Sarah Punshon

Sarah is a theatre director and creator of unusual live events. She has created critically-acclaimed and popular productions at West Yorkshire Playhouse, Salisbury Playhouse, New Vic Theatre, and Theatre by the Lake, amongst others. Previous family theatre includes 'Beauty and the Beast' (Creation Theatre, 2009; “highly original... imaginative and thought-provoking” The Stage) and 'Error 404' (Polka Theatre, 2015; “fascinating and innovative” Guardian).

In 2010 Sarah was a Clore Fellow, which led to a year curating an experimental programme of arts-science events at the Natural History Museum, reaching 22,000 family visitors with interactive performance and installations. Since then she has created live events for Manchester Museum and Wellcome Collection, whilst continuing to develop and direct theatre projects. She's increasingly creating her own work, rather than simply directing: for example, co-writing an adaptation of a 1920s thriller for the Watermill Theatre earlier this year “Splendid... an inventive funny spoof played at breathtaking pace... rollicking fun.” British Theatre Guide
