Current Supporters

In April 2018, China Plate became one of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisations. We have now begun a four-year funding partnership to deliver an ambitious business plan with a diverse programme of artist and artform development, which will see new work with new partners and our first step into developing mid-scale work.

More information about the Arts Council's National Portfolio can be found here.

Alongside this, we have also been awarded a four-year grant from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to support our core programme, including a new post of Engagement and Participation Producer. The Foundation is one of the largest independent grant-makers in the UK that aims to improve the quality of life for people and communities by funding the charitable work of organisations that are building an inclusive, creative and sustainable society. In 2017, it made grants of £40.5 million towards a wide range of work within the arts, children and young people, the environment and social change.

Support Us

China Plate has become a leading player in the development and delivery of new work, creating engaging and adventurous theatre with a popular appeal. Without a ‘theatre building’, the company works with some of the country’s most exciting artists via three key strands:

Making, Programming and Developing.

As a vital support structure for artists at all stages of their careers, we warmly welcome donations of any kind, however big or small.

With your help, we will continue to support artists who make great work; we’ll take risks by developing new and ambitious theatre, and tour work across the country.

There are different ways to support China Plate, from individual donations to corporate sponsorship for individual projects or core costs. To find out more, please scroll down.

China Plate is a not for profit organisation.
