"an eclectic, jam packed taster menu of theatre from the Midlands"
Coventry Culture
Grab your lunch, sit back and have a taste of some exciting new theatre being cooked up across the Midlands – all delivered directly to your table!
First Bite 2021 was a weeklong online festival of new ideas from some of the most exciting theatre makers working in the region. 4 bite sized, lunch time festival events were served up during the final week of September, each offering an exclusive sneak peek of brand-new work currently in development.
The festival included a chance to hear from the artists themselves and offer them feedback to help further develop the work.
Two of the pieces seen at the First Bite Online Festival will be commissioned by the festival partners and programmed at the Bite Size Festival at Warwick Arts Centre in April 2022. This includes Blood by Georgia Kelly and Pulled by Keiren Hamilton-Amos.
Also on the menu were 3 new pieces of digital work made by young companies and artists as part of Take a Bite – an initiative providing Midlands based 18-23 year olds with professional development opportunities within the UK arts scene.
Be there at the start to help mould the future of theatre in the Midlands!
All events were hosted by Georgie Jones.
Commissioned by Attenborough Arts Centre, In Good Company and Midlands Arts Centre. Supported by Camden People’s Theatre.
