Assistant Producer

sammy@chinaplatetheatre.com

I am China Plate’s Assistant Producer. I joined the team in July 2019 to provide support to the producers on the effective delivery of various projects where I mainly lead on all logistics, the delivery of marketing campaigns, the support of both internal and external communications, and evaluation. The work I do constantly shifts between the projects, such as touring shows, online training for industry professionals and engagement projects with young artists and producers.

Currently, I am producing the R&D phase of a new show written by Urielle Klein-Mekongo. In addition, I am supporting organisational development by drafting an anti-racist policy which will dictate a new way of working and engaging with professionals and audiences.

Engagement and Participation Producer

andrea@chinaplatetheatre.com

I am China Plate’s Engagement and Participation Producer. I develop and deliver the strategy around our work with young people, schools and community groups.

This involves modelling our existing artist development work for Midlands based 16-21 year olds so that they receive similar opportunities as professionals. It also includes developing work for primary school audiences, how we can engage with secondary schools through our touring productions and ways members of the public can be involved in the creation of our work. If you are interested in our work with schools, please contact me on schools@chinaplatetheatre.com

I also support the whole company to think about how all our projects are audience-focused. Whether the ‘audiences’ are our artists, participants or members of the public seeing our work.
