RISE was developed in partnership with East London Dance and One Dance UK in 2021. It brings together alumni and members of China Plate and East London Dance’s training and development programmes and One Dance UK’s Dance Ambassadors to co-design and co-produce an online careers event for early career and emerging creatives aged 18+.
It was created in response to:
RISE has been a vehicle to achieve these by allowing our cohorts to upskill, whilst also giving them an opportunity to design the type of event they think people at a similar career-point to them would want and need.
“Working on both iterations of RISE has given me the confidence and experience to prosper in my career as an Events Coordinator now. I was able to develop my confidence as a facilitator by planning and running a social and networking event for delegates. I also developed my ability to communicate effectively within a large working group and improve my public speaking skills.” – RISE co-producer
RISE 2021 and RISE Again 2022 has involved 11 co-producers and the events have collectively engaged over 400 delegates.
“The RISE event was brilliant, exactly what I needed after an extended period of unemployment. I felt more motivated than ever after attending the event and it provided me with a lot of practical advice and tips with regards to my career and networking.” – RISE 2021 delegate
